Summit of Bardon Hill CE-004    Jimmy on Bardon Hill

From the Wendover Woods and Haddington Hill CE-005, we followed the B4009, B488 and B489 towards Dunstable and Luton before joining the M1(N). Our target was then J24 (Coalville), from where we turned to head towards Copt Oak, and then left along the road with the summit to our left (south). We turned left opposite the pub into the housing estate, and left again, and left yet again when we saw Vercor Close. We parked on here and took the public footpath that starts at the end of the close. This is a straightforward path and takes no more than about 20 minutes to the summit which is beyond the transmitter towers on a rocky outpost at the edge of the quarry.  We met some geocachers hiding their bounty. The weather was everything - hot, cold, dry, wet, sunny, cloudy, windy and still.   Descended and drove back to Macc for 7.30pm, shattered!
