This was our first "whole-family" summit activation, with XYL Marianne joining the regular expedition party of Tom, Jimmy & Liam on 3rd January 2003. This was a mistake, as Billinge Hill is little more than an unsightly swelling in a muddy potato field, leaving Marianne wondering what an earth this new SOTA interest was all about, driving 40 miles to walk a few hundred yards in such. She has since seen the photographs of other summit walks and even joined us for a second time on Agnew's Hill in County Antrim, N.I., so is slowly coming back round to the idea! Thanks to the following stations, all worked on 2m FM with 2.5 watts:
