This was our first "whole-family" summit activation, with XYL Marianne joining the regular expedition party of Tom, Jimmy & Liam on 3rd January 2003.   This was a mistake, as Billinge Hill is little more than an unsightly swelling in a muddy potato field, leaving Marianne wondering what an earth this new SOTA interest was all about, driving 40 miles to walk a few hundred yards in such.  She has since seen the photographs of other summit walks and even joined us for a second time on Agnew's Hill in County Antrim, N.I., so is slowly coming back round to the idea!
