Friday 6th March 2020 - Gun G/SP-013, Winter Hill G/SP-010, Billinge Hill G/SP-017 & The Cloud G/SP-015 I got to the end of my maths teaching day in Altrincham, and the end of another successful and enjoyable week's work. There was a game of staff football in which to partake - my first at Wellington School for 19 years(!). After that, I couldn't resist grabbing another challenge multiplier on the penultimate day of the DV flavour, by taking a drive up to Billinge.
As usual, I parked close to the end of the access road for Beacon Farm, and made the short walk up to the summit from there. I just carried my Yaesu FT-70D handheld, and my headtorch of course, as daylight was about to cease! I breathed a sigh of relief when the first three replies that came in were all on 2m C4FM. After that, a further five stations were added on 2m FM (analogue), and I drove home. SOTA was not yet done for the day though, and I took my second circuitous route of the day in order to activate The Cloud G/SP-015.
