Tom M1EYP, Jimmy & Dick M3EIQ on the summit of Black Hill SP-002     Tom & Jimmy on Black Hill

This summit was activated on Saturday 3rd January 2004:

Jimmy and myself headed up to the A635 out of Mossley, while Liam and Marianne opted for Congleton Safeway. This time, we parked in the lay-by by the new Pennine Way route to the summit, and enjoyed the easy paved walk in.  It was a bleak cold winter's day, but there were still plenty of walkers out.  As we reached the trig point, who should be there but Dick M3EIQ/P just completing his own activation.   It turned out that he didn't make the four contacts the previous day, and so was out again to claim the five points.  In a fine gesture of comradeship, Dick elected to stick around while we activated and even reset up his shelter.  We reciprocated with a cupful of our mulligatawny soup from the flask and set about activating. Keith G0OXV and Stuart G0MJG were first up, before a summit-to-summit with Roger MW0IDX/P on Moel Siabod GW/NW-010.  G4UHQ qualified the activation for us, before we all walked back to our cars together.
