Easington Fell 2015

Contemplating the walk up Easington Fell        And the rain starts...

This was the fourth and final summit of an outing on Friday 20th November 2015.  At long last, the 10m band opened up, and it was possible to make a few QSOs out of the UK.  It still wasn't spectacular, but three QSOs into Northern England, plus four into the USA, was a massive improvement on the day so far!

Operating inside the bothy bag shelter        Dreadful weather - sens of humour essential!

The main challenge on this summit was the weather.  Shortly after setting up, some very heavy rain started, and it was absolutely necessary to operate from inside the bothy bag.  When things did ease of to an extent, I reluctantly decided to get on with packing up.  There wasn't much daylight left, and moreover, I was wanted to join Jimmy M0HGY and his mates for a high school reunion drink at the Cock Inn in Henbury.
