Saturday 5th October 2019 -  Hegdon Hill G/WB-023 & Burton Hill G/WB-020

Gig: Simon Faulkner Band

Venue:  Lemore Manor, Eardisley

The summit choices were obvious for this rural gig location just to the north of Hereford.  The venue sat roughly halfway between Hegdon Hill and Burton Hill, so those two it would be.  Hegdon Hill is a very trivial proposition with a public road running right over the summit.  I parked up the car and wandered up and down the road making calls on my 2m FM handheld.

After qualifying, I received some text messages from Richard G3CWI who was out motorhome portable and keen to try and make the chaser QSO with me.  We did make it eventually, but we had to try a few tricks like holding the FT70D high above my head, and trying alternative frequencies.  Plenty of time, so next on to Burton Hill G/WB-020.
