We left the M6 at J37 and parked in the entrance to the quarry on the left, where there is plenty of room at the roadside.  We followed exactly the same route as last year around the track, then branched off to the right to the highest point by the wall.  The summit is not marked in any way, but is well described on Ann Bowker's website.  Five minutes brought three contacts, then there was a half-hour wait, before a further ten minutes brought any other contacts.

We stopped in the same pub in Leyland as we did last year, for a drink and a play on the machine.  There is a multi-games machine that has sprung up in lots of pubs lately, and Jimmy and Liam and myself enjoy playing the "Match 'Em Up" and the "Q-Shot" games after walking!
