Sunday 10th September 2006 was turning out to be a gorgeous summer's afternoon. From Thorpe Fell Top G/NP-025, we returned to the B6265 and headed southwards through Skipton and Silsden. After reaching the crossroads on the country lanes ahead of West Morton, we turned left up the distinctive straight road up onto Rombalds Moor.
From the parking spot at SE 101 453, it was a swift 15 minute stride out to the summit trig point, and an enjoyable activation basking in the late afternoon sun. Some more summit-to-summit contacts kept the day's chaser points ticking along rather nicely too.
Following our return to the car, we drove back to Macclesfield via the A65, M62, M60, A34 and A537. Many thanks to the following stations, all worked on 2m FM with 2.5 watts, except the last two both on 5 watts:
