High Vinnalls 2006

There was to be no early start today.  Being in a bed & breakfast meant that we were obliged to take breakfast at the standard 8am.  We resigned ourselves to this inconvenience and tucked into a Full English and all the trimmings, before setting off back across Ludlow for High Vinnalls.  A couple of missed turnings had to be corrected before we were finally on the lane which approached the hill from the North-East.  Due North of the hill was a Forestry Commission parking area, where we set down before commencing our walk along forest tracks on this beautfiul hot and sunny morning.

This was a most enjoyable walk, although the sweat began to pour on the final steep stony approach to the summit ridge.  The summit was marked by a viewing seat and some kind of lookout tower, which was fenced off.  We set up the gear and had the activation completed for the pair of us shortly after 10.30am local.  A swift descent followed, and we were making our way over to Titterstone Clee Hill G/WB-004.
