From Stingwern Hill GW/MW-030, Jimmy navigated us successfully to Long Mountain-Beacon Ring GW/MW-026.   As in previous years, we walked up the transmitter access track and through to the medieval hillfort and wood.  We all had a look at the trig point and the hut/shelter that Jimmy discovered in the wood.  It was somehwat tricky again on the radio, but eventually I had six contacts in 46 minutes on 2m FM.

We headed out on the country lanes to the A5 near Shrewsbury, and Jimmy directed me to the same pub that we had visted earlier in the year with ADF and CWI.  We decided to have our tea here, and for me it had to be the sausage and spicy onion ring sandwiches!  This was accompanied by a pint and the sight of England taking a couple of late Australian wickets in the Test match on the widescreen TV in the pub.  A very pleasant end to the day.

Many thanks to the following stations, all worked on 2m FM with 2.5 watts:

G4JZF Walsall Graham
G7LPY Wolverhampton Nigel
M0COP Hall Green Pete
G0NES Wythall Don
