From Stiperstones G/WB-003, we drove back down the hill to Bridges, then up the other side onto the Long Mynd. This time, I ignored the previously frequented 'Shooting Box' car park at SO 420 953, and continued around, turning right at the T-junction. The objective was unashamedly the shortest walking approach from the nearest road at SO 414 939, and there was plenty of room to park the car here.
It was no more than an easy five minute walk to the summit from here, and after touching the trig point we continued downhill towards Chruch Stretton slightly in order to shelter from the still cold wind. The chosen position in the heather was not the wisest of selections, for it took us ages to find a beam element that Jimmy dropped into the vegetation! Once set up, we were back on 2m SSB again to work the contest stations, and we were operational for about twenty minutes.
A quick pack up and descent meant were we mobile in the car by 11am, and on our way to Caer Caradoc G/WB-006. Many thanks to the following stations, all worked on 2m SSB with 2.5 watts:
