Mynydd Drumau, GW/SW-038 - 272m ASL - SN 725 002 - OS Explorer 165 - 1 SOTA point SOTA road trip, Day 4 - Tuesday 4th August 2020 I'd enjoyed a comfortable night's rest at Hafan y Coed, Abercraf. All my gadgets - and my body and mind - were fully recharged. Just what one would hope from a night in a spiritual retreat! From Abercraf, I drove in a SSW direction towards Neath, following the satnav to enter the driveable bridleway track on the west of Bryn-coch. I continued up this track to a sharp zigzag corner, beyond which I judged the surface to be too rough for my vehicle. There were another couple of cars parked here too.
It was a short walk up the rest of the track, and then directly across a field to the trig point. Four SOTA chasers were worked on 17m CW, and then things seemed very quiet - so I packed up to get onto the next summit.
It was a short drive to the Port Talbot area next, for a walk up Mynydd Dinas GW/SW-040.
