This was to be a brand new one for all of us.  Jimmy, Liam, myself and a flask of Heinz Speciality Garden Pea & Ham soup set off at 6.30am on Saturday morning, breakfasted at the McDonalds on the A56 in Haslingden, and took the M65 and A56 (again) towards Skipton.  We then followed the B6265 and minor lanes into Thorpe, where we parked on a grass verge at the suggestion of a local resident.

We walked up the walled bridleway up to the open fell, and then through the old quarry workings, working Clive M1YAM/P on Calf Top G/NP-013 while doing so.  The path wound its way up, getting less and less distinct.  When we met the track near the top, it was then a case of taking a compass bearing and bounding through the heather.  We all reached the summit without sprained ankles and hid between the large rocks to shelter from the considerable wind.  I worked 7 stations on 2m FM, and Steve G1INK/P on Shining Tor G/SP-004 on 2m SSB. Sadly, I wasn't able to make the contacts into Midlands Mafia country.

We descended the same way and started the drive across to the next summit - Sharp Haw G/NP-029.

Thanks to the following stations, all worked on 2m FM except the last contact which was 2m SSB, 0.5 watts for the first three, 2.5 watts thereafter:
