I drove up the hill and into the car park for Welshpool Golf Club.  From here the public footpath leads off over heathery heathland adjacent to the greens and fairways of the gold course.  It goes down a bit of a dip then up higher and towards the summit, marked by a trig point.

I started with the 2m FM handheld again, but only managed two QSOs despite half-an-hour of calling.  I therefore set up the 20m GP antenna and worked on CW, making five QSOs.  I was still on target to complete four activations before my gig, so I quickly packed up, walked back to the clubhouse and drove to the other side of Welshpool for Long Mountain-Beacon Ring GW/MW-026.
