SOTA road trip, Day 5 - Wednesday 5th August 2020

From Periton Hill G/SC-006, it might have appeared more logical, geographically to visit Selworthy Beaon G/SC-005 next, and then this one, Exmoor's highest point.  However, Selworthy was my preference for an overnight summit camp, so that seemingly logical order was deliberately reversed.

I parked in the parking area on the East side of the hill, marked at 443m ASL.  This gave a straightforward, ascent of about 76m, over the course of fractionally over 1km.  I reached the summit and set up in the last moments of the day's twilight.  I would soon need to switch on my headtorch.

I went straight to FT8 on 17m and made two QSOs.  But only two QSOs, and 2m FM was required to round things off.  With this completed, I wasted no time in packing up and descending.  I was keen to have my overnight summit camp established on Selworthy Beaon G/SC-005 before midnight UTC!
