Sunday 1sth March 2020 - Brown Clee Hill G/WB-002, Titterstone Clee Hill G/WB-004, View Edge G/WB-018, Long Mynd-Pole Bank G/WB-005, Stiperstones G/WB-003, Corndon Hill GW/MW-013, Mynydd-y-briw GW/NW-060, Gyrn Moelfre GW/NW-049, Hope Mountain GW/NW-062, The Cloud G/SP-015 & Gun G/SP-013 After Mynydd-y-briw GW/NW-060, a short drive to Moelfre Hall, where I parked in the yard. The people here are always very friendly and please to allow you to park in order to walk up to the summit. There was no-one around as I arrived though, but I was confident that it would be no problem. I grabbed my handheld and set off up the rough vehicle track which initially plotted a wide zigzag before striking more steeply upwards towards the shoulder.
I managed to make it to the summit still in daylight, but I made sure I got my photos before turning the radio on! I knew that dusk would be along very soon. Adrian G4AZS came straight back to me on 2m C4FM, following which the summit was qualified on analogue. It was now getting dark rapidly, but I managed to complete my descent to Moelfre Hall without use of my headtorch. One of the residents was in the car park as I arrived, and we had a friendly chat. He confirmed that I was always welcome to park there for a walk, and individual permission each time was not necessary. I would need the headtorch for the next hill - Hope Mountain GW/NW-062.
