From Rhos Ymryson GW/MW-035 on Monday 20th August 2012, it was a drive up the lanes to the north. Quite a long way north in fact, that would leave us a fairly lengthy drive to get back to the holiday cottage at Llys-y-fran. But this was to be another very easy summit, with a short walk and little in the way of ascent.
We parked in a large rough parking area at SN608678, then followed the clear path up the hillside. It was only a matter of minutes to the summit trig, and we could begin setting up. For the first time in the long day, we had a sea view from our summit. For the second time in a long day, Jimmy 2O0EYP/P managed to make a QSO on 2m FM. It wasn't a local though - the station worked was in North Wales! Jimmy needed to make use of the HF station to get the other he needed on 20m SSB.
On 20m CW, I made 13 contacts, including going stateside with Rich N4EX. Again, when the calls stopped coming back immediately, I went QRT, conscious of a long drive back to Llysyfran, and a wife and a son that hadn't seen us all day and would be wanting to go out for dinner. A very pleasant evening at the Raj Balti House in Haverfordwest ensued, and the six-activation day had been realised. The next SOTA of the holiday would be two days later on Foel Cwmcerwyn GW/MW-011.
