Wentwood, GW/SW-033 - 309m ASL - ST 411 943 - OS Explorer OL14 & 152 - 1 SOTA point            

SOTA road trip, Day 5 - Wednesday 5th August 2020

From Mynydd Machen GW/SW-030, I drove towards Newport and picked up the M4 to head East with a little more velocity!  I exited a Junction 24 and followed my satnav's directions up to Wentwood.  I parked in the small car park that is just NE of the summit, and just a mainly flat easy 200m walk away.  This would be a very easy summit!

I found the trig point, just off to the side of the main path, and set up the 17m groundplane antenna in a small space beside the path.  Before 10am in the morning, four 17m CW contacts were made easily in as many minutes.  With no more callers, there was no point hanging around, and I returned to the car for a longer drive back over into England, and the next summit - Bristol's Dundry Down G/SC-010.
