Aconbury Hill, G/WB-024 - 276m ASL - SO 505 330 - OS Explorer 189 - 1 SOTA point SOTA road trip, Day 7 - Friday 7th August 2020 From Garway Hill G/WB-013, it was another satnav-led drive north west, mainly on unclassified narrow lanes, but with a bit on the A466 north towards King's Thorn. I parked on a small parking area adjacent to the church due south of the summit. The public footpath leads off from here in a westerly direction before very soon turning north to progress directly towards the summit, through the woods.
I was enjoying the warm sunshine on a lovely day in Herefordshire. Like on the previous summit, things seemed to dry up after three QSOs on 17m CW, but I did notice a spot of an ongoing SOTA activation on 17m SSB. S57MS/P was contacted and worked summit-to-summit. I could now make the quick return walk - I hesitate to describe it as a "descent" - and drive up to Hegdon Hill G/WB-023.
