Hegdon Hill, G/WB-023 - 254m ASL - SO 585 539 - OS Explorer 202 - 1 SOTA point SOTA road trip, Day 7 - Friday 7th August 2020 From Aconbury Hill G/WB-024, it was a drive of about 20km north to the other side of Hereford. This hill is barely more than a road over the summit with a farmhouse nearby. The trig point is in a private field and there aren't any verges beside the road to comfortably set up an antenna. I decided to take a chance and erect the 17m groundplane just inside the start of the Three Rivers Ride track as it left the road near the summit. Fortunately, no other walkers, or indeed cyclists came through during the time I was there. I was able to get a photo of the trig point in the adjacent field.
This was another easy activation, all on 17m CW, and included a S2S with Jirka OK2OP/P on a summit in the Czech Republic (OK) SOTA Association. Next it was back west across the north of Hereford, to Burton Hill G/WB-020.
