Saturday 18th June 2022 - Walton Hill G/CE-002, Worcestershire Beacon G/WB-009 & gig:  Serious Hat Band @ Micklebury, Upton-upon-Severn

The Serious Hat Band gig was a private party near Upton-upon-Severn.  Pleasant walks up the two south Midland hills despite the patchy rain and poor visibility. 

All the grazing taking place adjacent to the path was making me feel hungry!

At the summit, I called on 2m FM with the handheld (using 70th Jubilee NoV call MQ1EYP/P) and made plenty of contacts.

Onto the gig on a farm near Upton-upon-Severn.  We appeared to be playing for the evening in a big old tractor shed!

Great gig with Ed Dewson’s band. Ed is a great guy to work for and always carries top notch PA, lighting rig and tech team.

Good set list and great band. Good to see Ollie (sound tech) again, and great to meet and work with James (drums), Tom (keys) and Tallulah (electric violin, vocals and percussion) for the first time.

The wood fired pizzas were a more than acceptable form of bandwiches to feed the hunger!

Stopped for a break at the services on the M5 - and bumped into my very good friends Stu Clark and Andy Morley, themselves driving home from a gig!
